ORANGE, Calif. (Sept. 15, 2015) — Honored Citizens Choice Health Plan, a federally qualified Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan serving nearly 20,000 seniors in California, will change its name to Alignment Health Plan as of October 1, 2015.

“We acquired Honored Citizens Choice Health because it was an ideal platform to implement Alignment Healthcare’s proven model of highly coordinated and advanced care for the Medicare beneficiary,” said John Kao, CEO of Alignment Healthcare. “Since the acquisition, we have upgraded services to the plan’s members and have integrated the care delivered by our provider partners.”

Membership cards reflecting the new name will be sent to plan members in phases over the next few months. Benefits and level of service remain the same.

“We believe the Alignment brand better reflects our position of changing health care one patient at a time,” said Dawn Maroney, president of Alignment Health Plan. “The personal attention that our members know and love will only get better.”

Marking its 10th year of operations, the Medicare Advantage HMO provides benefits to nearly 20,000 enrollees in California.
