Dawn Maroney to oversee all markets, Alignment Health Plan names new president
ORANGE, Calif. (Dec. 14, 2016) – John Kao, CEO and president of Alignment Healthcare, has announced organizational changes to support double-digit growth in membership totaling more than 40,000 people after the close of Medicare’s annual election period on Dec. 7.
In California, long-time health plan insurance executive Katherine F. (Kathy) Feeny will step in as president of Alignment Health Plan, assuming the role previously held by Dawn Maroney, who has been promoted to oversee all market presidents. Maroney will continue to oversee certain corporate functions such as sales, marketing and product development.
Feeny has more than 35 years of experience and extensive knowledge within the Medicare, Medicaid and individual insurance industries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology and psychology from Manhattanville College in New York, and currently serves on the boards of the National Healthcare Foundation and Dynamic Healthcare Systems.
“In the last two years, many of our leaders had to wear many hats as we grew from 12 people to now more than 400 people, from zero revenue to almost $500 million in revenue,” Kao said. “As a company, we are transitioning from a start-up to a high-growth organization, and these changes will ultimately improve our ability to serve our communities and members.”
