Medicare-eligible seniors can now access a dedicated concierge team 24/7 with $0 monthly premium, $0 primary care doctor visits, and $0 dental and eye exams with most plans
ORANGE, Calif., Oct. 1, 2018 – Southern Calif.-based Alignment Health Plan, one of the top five rated Medicare Advantage plans in California in 2018 by U.S. News & World Report, announced today that it is expanding access to its health plans into South Orange and San Diego counties. More than 1 million seniors live in these counties, so availability of Alignment’s personalized, concierge-level care is a welcome addition to medical coverage choices offered during Medicare’s annual election period, which occurs Oct. 15 – Dec. 7, 2018.

The centerpiece is Alignment’s new ACCESS On-Demand Concierge, launching Jan. 1, 2019 to give members, at no extra cost, a wide range of benefits, including 24/7 access to:
- A licensed doctor or medical specialist via phone, mobile app or online portal,
- A dedicated concierge team that helps patients make appointments, schedule transportation, determine benefits, discuss health issues, assist with post-discharge home meal delivery, and more; and
- Information about their benefits via phone, online member portal, or Alignment’s mobile app.
In addition, some plans enable members to use their ACCESS card as a debit card with a monthly stipend to purchase eligible over-the-counter items at more than 50,000 participating drug stores, including CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens and Walmart. Members of certain plans can also earn rewards for taking wellness and prevention steps, such as getting a flu shot or a mammogram.
Alignment Health Plan More Than Doubles Orange County Footprint
Through an expanded partnership with Monarch HealthCare, a part of OptumCare, Alignment Health Plan is more than doubling the number of primary care physicians (PCPs) in its Orange County network, to a total of nearly 500 PCPs. New additions to Alignment’s hospital network include the top three regional hospitals, such as Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, ranked the “Best Regional Hospital” for 2018-19 by U.S. News & World Report, as well as Hoag Memorial Hospital in Irvine, Mission Hospital Laguna Beach, Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, Orange County Global Medical Center, Placentia Linda Hospital, Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and South Coast Global Medical Center.
In San Diego, Alignment is Now Available to More Than Half a Million Seniors
In San Diego, more than 540,000 seniors will now have access to the Alignment Health Plan through 230 PCPs, including those from Greater Tri-Cities IPA Medical Group, Mercy Physicians Medical Group, Primary Care Associates Medical Group and XiMED Physicians IPA. In addition, members will have access to treatment at Scripps Health, rated the No. 1 hospital in San Diego by U.S. News & World Report for two consecutive years, and three other hospitals: Alvarado Medical Center, Paradise Valley Hospital and Tri-City Medical Center.
